I dig the way these things look when they've been sent through the mail. Postmarked, stamped, handled, spindled, and sometimes bent. Gets 'em all punkrocky. The cards are inked by hand on 110 pound acid free paperstock at 4" x 6".

Hotel Des Arts SF

V gave me the gift of reconnecting to, and being rejuvenated by art – For my birthday she took me to San Francisco for the weekend and we stayed at the very cool Hotel Des Arts. Some of the most influential street artists that have come from the SF scene have come together to "do up" the rooms.

We stayed in the Vinyl Killer room... stencil on old LPs, yup!

You can take a tour of the rooms on their website and a few of the artists have posted videos about how they feel about the project and the hotel.

If that weren't enough the hotel's hallways are filled with rotating showcases.

The Warholians exhibit at Royal T in Culver City is very worth checking out. It's sponsored by Barbie no less so it was destined to be fabulous. Highlights: Warhol originals - Marylin, and Dollar Sign, Shepard Fairy print, and the pop-up store's display of Barbies.

We went out to Trump National down in Palos Verdes to do a photo shoot a couple days ago. BOO! (seen in background) is the mascot of the market research firm I've been working with a lot lately - they happen to share the same name i.e. BOO!

We've been having a good time this year traveling the country creating market research documentaries for GM, Newcastle Beer, Microsoft, and a few other little companies like that.

The shoot was the last in a series of promo postcards I'm creating for them.

This is a rave card I did a few years ago for my good friend Regan aka the queen of Venice or QofV. She has put together some great dance events. good DJs, good space, good people, much fun. Get on her list here.

I was really happy when she asked me to produce the art for this event (then let personal strife get in the way of showing up)

This board was commissioned for Allen Shapiro of Mosaic Media. His love of music and the business he created to put entertainment out led me to imagine "the muse." And how that might look if you could see it coming out of an artist at work.

Scott Anderson shaped it. I think it lives in Hawaii now.

Of course there has to be a Dead Kennedys ref in there somewhere.

This is my 7' 6" board with image of skater dreaming about boarding. I ride this fairly often as it's a good shape for the Venice breakwater where the waves can be anything from steep barrells to mushy shorebreak. Scott Anderson shaped it.

I ran over the tail with my 7' 11" Hawaiian Pro the first time it went in the water (down in Baja). I let my pal James T. take it out the first time and then dropped in on him (pure kook).

And then James and Lucio did me the big favor of letting it wash up on the rocks at Boneyard.

Good question. The answer is that you will have to decide what is MoD. What's that you're saying, don't be a douchie conceited art fag! Well it's hard not to when you're creating a post about yourself and your artistic endeavors.
